FULL DAY AT MOUNT BEERWAH – $242.00 pp incl. gst
Mount Beerwah is the highest of the ten volcanic plugs in the Glass House Mountains with an elevation of 556 meters that was formed 26 million years ago. I love this mountain, the free Climb! Because it brings back my inner child, my memories of scrambling as a kid and the fun I had hopping about the rock and also for the definite challenge involved in this very exposed location.
It requires experience, technique, skill and fitness to be able to make it safely back. The start is the hardest a very wide smooth, slabby rock with little to grab as we incline past the first section then it becomes a bit easier with more foot holds and things to grab up to the Cathedral Pipes. Superb views every time you look about and you will be amazed how high you have come and how exposed it has been on your journey so far – hopefully this doesn’t scare you with the descent that comes later, which is why going with experienced leaders is essential for your safety. This last push to the summit is about half hour on a pretty good walking track, with a couple exposed spots that require supported climbs the up rock.
The Summit is your reward of 360 degree views of ocean and Hinterland, it has to be experienced to truly appreciate the utmost joy felt every time.
But wait… the descent!
You will feel nervous, this Okay, this is good, this is the fear inside us that makes us aware. We go slowly, we stay together as a group and with one step at a time before long you will be at the bottom. Rest assured, you will be supported and kept safe always.
You will feel absolutely amazing because one massive scramble took you out of your comfort zone and the thought of the impossible was replaced with achievable.
You just Climbed Beyond your Wildest Dreams and experienced for yourself a Magical Adventure!!
