Mount Ngungun Climbing half day activity in Glass House Mountains, Queensland’s National significance.

These volcanic plugs that tower above the surrounding landscape are Heritage listed, your will experience views of the mountains from forest areas at the base to the woodland.

Mt Ngungun is 253m above sea level consisting of open forest with a ferny understorey.

To walk and reach the summit ridge it is 1.4 kms, once you are there you can experience 360 degree views that look towards Mt Tibrogargan, Mt Coonowrin and Mt Beerwah all these beautiful mountains give way to challenging climbing, abseiling fitness opportunities.

The different climbs at Mt Ngungun that you can directly experience are:

Andromeda: a small cliff on the west lower side of Mt Ngungun this has a lot of short easy well protected routes in quiet shady location of 10 -20 meters in length.

Flat battery Wall: a great slabby rock suited to less experience in climbing with 10-14 meter lengths, varying difficulty. A great chance to build your confidence with climbing in general whilst giving you the opportunity for more experience as you increase the challenge at your pace.

Nursery cliffs: on the summit ridge this offers a more exposed climb, you will love this site of 20 meters which is just under vertical but easy enough for all climbers. Don’t forget to look around and take in the breathtaking views.

Plenty of variety at Mount Ngungun although I would like you to know all the climbing is shared with other Companies for this reason weekdays may be a better option to avoid large groups, it does happen though on occasion with it being busy. Please understand I will always do my best to secure a favourite site and give you the best experience possible. I know you will have an amazing day with Magic Adventures as it is my passion to bring you joy and aliveness in our beautiful surroundings.

Come and share in the fun, challenge and excitement climbing beyond your Wildest Dreams!
